Katie Sargent is an assistant professor of Special Education at IUSB. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Special Education from the University of Dayton in 2008, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kazakhstan where she worked with a local school developing an inclusive education program. After her service, she worked as a special education teacher in Hawaii and Tennessee. She received her Master’s from Vanderbilt University in 2016 and her PhD from Vanderbilt in 2020. Her research interests include academic interventions for students with persistent learning difficulties and content-area interventions for secondary students with disabilities.
