Michael Harley
Michael Harley’s love for working in higher education began while attending IU Bloomington. There Michael worked in the Office of Admissions for the Volunteers for Minority Recruitment program. In that role, Michael would sit on panel discussions to prospective students, gave campus tours and visited high schools to talk about life as a college student.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education, he worked for many years with the University of Notre Dame’s TRiO Programs. In this role, Michael facilitated workshops to first-generation college students, assisted families in completing the FAFSA, planned college tours and took students on cultural visits.
Michael earned his master’s degree in Higher Education from Abilene Christian University and moved on to Ivy Tech Community College in which he coordinated the campus tutoring center. He was an advisor in the College of Arts & Sciences and graduate advisor in the School of Education.
For the School of Education, he serves as director of student teaching & clinical practice and the licensing officer.
Michael enjoys the work he does because he gets to work with students, faculty, staff, teachers, principals, school personnel, Indiana Dept. of Education and many others.
