The educational leadership program has allowed me to work in a small cohort group, where I interact with other fellow educators as we all work collaboratively in helping each other reach our educational leadership goals. The program is well-structured, allowing me to attend class twice a week for 8 weeks, work full-time and still balance my family life while going to school
I enjoy learning from the highly qualified IUSB faculty members that have different backgrounds in educational leadership from building principals to policymakers and superintendents. As a student and teacher, it is a pleasure to work with supportive colleagues as well as leaders who provide time, resources, structures, to help in the discovery and recognition of student capabilities.
My cohort is very supportive, and we work as a team to get assignments and projects accomplished. Without others, I cannot learn and, if I cannot learn, I cannot teach. I’m happy that I selected the IUSB Educational leadership program to guide me in planning and molding my career to become an effective building principal. Leadership for the improvement of classroom teaching and learning is the essential force for making a successful principal.
